Our son Vincent was diagnosed gender dysmorphic (transgender). In the last election transgender persons were the targets of lies and rhetoric vilifying them in ways reminiscent of other historical events leading up to the attacks on a minority. Already policies have been changed denying them access to care and employment opportunities.

The choice to leave was made not because Donald Trump is president. If he resigned or passed away today it would not take away the fact that Americans were wholely unethical or uneducated in their electoral choice. We can no longer contribute to the prosperity of a people so lacking in morality. It is our hope that one day the people of the United States will find the strength to be better.

When Jessie (my wife) and I first started dating our long term dream was a country home in New Zealand or Australia. Almost 20 years later we desired to exchange our hope that America could be more like Australia for the hope that we can make Australia the home we always dreamed of. A homeland that values nature, common sense, law, and its people.
